Making Smoothies More Fun

No doubt smoothies are fun to prepare. They are refreshing, fruity and are served with straws. But they can be totally wicked when you include ingredients such as vodka, gin, rum, brandy or other alcoholic drinks. You can then enjoy having them on a hot summer evening, with family and friends.

Of course, these kinds of smoothies are not for children and are intended only for the adults. Moreover, they are only to taken in moderation because of the special added ingredient. Like dessert smoothies, smoothie cocktails do not belong to the healthful drink category even if they do contain fruit. Take note though that these drinks are not meant to make you healthy but are primarily prepared for your enjoyment.

Sweet Dreams Smoothie

  • 60 ml Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1 banana, peeled and sliced
  • ½ c coffee ice cream
  • ½ c crushed ice

If you want something sweet, this smoothie recipe should do the trick. Put all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Pour into a glass and enjoy.

Pink Panther

  • 60 ml gin
  • ¼ c vanilla ice cream
  • ¼ c strawberries, halved
  • 1 c crushed ice

A sleek and smooth flavored drink, this smoothie is an easy favorite. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately

Swoon

  • 60 ml rum
  • ½ banana, peeled and sliced
  • ¼ c peach, sliced
  • 1 orange, peeled, seeded and chopped
  • ¼ c blueberries
  • 1 ½ c crushed ice

This is a deliciously sweet and fruity cocktail smoothie. Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.

Watermelon Tequila Smoothie

  • 1 c watermelon balls
  • 1 ½ tbsp lime juice
  • 60 ml tequila
  • 30ml cointreau
  • 1 ½ c crushed ice

A great cocktail smoothie to serve in parties, this recipe is also very easy to prepare. To make a serving, place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
